Oh my goodness, I just started talking to you guys about this yesterday but you all convinced me- (and yes this deserves CAPS) I JUST ORDERED MY MINI!!!!!!!!!! I went to a Saturn dealership after work to drive the Astra and they were incredibly nice, no pressure and it was a good experience but the Astra wasn't what I was looking for. When the guy priced it out it was around what I could get a MINI Cooper for (both with all the options I wanted). So when I got home- c. 7:30 I went on-line to the Classic Mini dealership in Ohio (super nice people compared to Motor City that I had dealt with over the phone the last couple days) just to SPEAK to Layne who had emailed me earlier and she wasn't in so I spoke to Jared the sales manager and he was so pleasant to deal with and answered all of my question and I just felt GOOD about it - SO, without even test-driving I am now on my way to being the proud owner of a MINI! I put the down-payment and he's placing the order tonight- so now I begin the dreaded 6-8 week wait!!! I HOPE I have it in time for my vacation July 12th! So it is:

MC, Mannual, PW/PW, Premium PKG, center arm rest, alarm system, leather sport wheel + multifunction, floor mats (c/o dealership for being NAM member!) and bumper protection.

WOW! Congratulations! Now see I'm at the other end of the spectrum. I've been hesitating to go to the dealer because that nasty little devil on my shoulder tells me I don't need another car. I feel almost certain if I go, I'll walk out at least half as happy as you...having placed an order for a new Mini!

My hubby and I ordered our new one on Saturday. (We had an '03 and loved it) They told us end of June for delivery!! Hope it works out that way we want to vacation with it the week of July 4th!!!

tedswoods- well this will be my daily drive and I have been in the market for awhile. The MINI was my original idea then I started thinking about other hatchbacks, especially when thoughts of money came into play BUT nothing really excited me the way MINI does soooo I just kind of went with it! Maybe look into a used one??? Save (some) money AND get your MINI???

 

WOW, we didn't know that we were so persuasive!
