R50/53 LOCKOUT FOR PASSENGER WINDOW???

LOCKOUT FOR PASSENGER WINDOW???

My passenger window will not roll down...by chance am I overlooking any lockout button or are these window motors known for going out? I have 04 MCS. thanks for any info....

Its the motor. Thump it above the speaker and it should start again. It is a well known issue and you may get some out of warranty help at the dealer depending on the relationship you have with them.

This happened to me a few weeks ago and here's what the solution was...

with the car off, punch the area just above the speaker on the door 'like it owes you money' and then turn the key 3/4 turn and try to roll it down. It worked for me like a charm. BTW, this seems to happen just after it rains or is the result of a cable getting bunched up.

The Fonzie method works for somethings, this is not one of them. I had to have both of my window motors replaced along the way, both covered under warranty thanks to the good grace of the dealer.
