Invisishield Pricing - Canada

Hi - I've just purchased my 08 BRG MCS and do a lot of driving on the 401 HWY in Ontario...so am starting to think of purchasing an Invisishield for the front bonnet and bumper.

Does anyone know of a reputable place that has done this in Toronto, Ontario? and also what price did you pay?

Thanks in advance!

Congrats on the new car! I had the paint protection film done on my '08 MC (hood, bumper, headlights, mirrors, leading edge of the roof) through the dealer for $599, who had someone from an outside shop come in and do the work prior to delivery. Looks good.

A GTA shop that's often recommended in forums is Trim-Line of Metrowest in Mississauga.

I have an appointment to get mine done next Tuesday at Mini Markham. I believe they have 3M do the job. I was quoted $300.00 although I was told they do not do the bumper. I travel the 400 highway daily and the bumper and hood took a beating this past winter. Having it touched up first.

So .... why am I told they can't do the bumper? Thanks

Hmm - I'll double check with people I'm getting quotes from to check they are doing the bumper. Thats one of the most important parts you would want done.

Is that Town & Country Mini Markham? I might check and see if I can get it done there as that's conveninent for me.

Would you highly recommend getting this done to protect your Mini from the Winter here? (I'm new to Toronto). Anything else you did to protect it in the Winter?

Yes Town & Country Mini is doing the work. After commuting last winter and seeing my poor Mini's hood and bumper I feel it's something that I should have done before. I put winter run flats on and they were definitely better than the regular run flats but not near as good a grip as other winters I've used. Once the run flats are done I'm planning on putting regular tires on but wondering where the heck I'll put the spare. Good luck with your search. BTW, I got the info at Mini Markham from Rohan.

The bumper is just a more complicated, time-consuming piece to work on and if they're doing it in-house they may not want to take the time, or may not have the expertise on-staff. An outside shop will certainly be able to do it, however.

I've used this film since 2003 on various cars and it works well. Wouldn't have a new car without it.

I'm thinking of going with these guys - anyone used them?

They are an official 3M Franchisee - so I take it that adds credibility?

Just wondering if anyone out there has had the 3M / clear coat paint protection put on the bonnet of a mini with bonnet stripes? Just wondering whether the installer went completly over the stripes? or did they not go over the stripes at all? or did they cut the 3M clear coat and do it in separate strips?

Just wondering because if I get the clear coat replaced say in 5 years and you pull it off - worried it might strip back/off the white stripes I have

Would love to hear from anyone - as I'm hoping to get this done soon

Looks like I'm a little late in getting my 5 cents in, but here it is anyways:

There is only ONE thing I regret not buying for my R56 MC from day one: Invisishield for the from bumper. After this winter, the city ripped up the north end of the 427 to fix potholes (job hasn't been finished) - that was the worst week of my MINIs life. Not only do I have several stone chips, but I have several windshield chips, and two chips on the bonnet stripes, and even the lower plastic apron of the front bumper has chips EVERYWHERE. If your still on the fence about the Invisishield, and go on the 400 series at any time... do it, just do it.

Someone mentioned that 3M does the work at Mini Markham. Although I can't confirm that, I'm 100% sure that Mini Vaughan West uses 3M. I've heard it straight from the hoses mouth, seen the car there, and not to mention... their work isn't flawless (but that's another story), so I'm 100% about that, and can only assume the same for other GTA dealers.

As far as covering the bonnet stripes, I can recall reading that it does go over the stripes, however it doesn't cover the whole bonnet, just the lower quarter or so. This I'm not 100% about, so hopefully someone that has this combo can confirm that.

Other graphics installers besides 3M from the dealership, I have no past experience with that, and therefor have nothing to say.

Hope this helps somewhat with your decision, but just remember...

400 Series = Bad for tha' bonnet!

I've taken it off of a previous car (porsche) and it did not come off easily (had to pull pretty hard). When it was off it was still a bit tacky, even after being on for over 3 years. Based on this I would assume you might also pull off the stripes. I took it off to spite the dealer I was trading it to, other than that I can't see a reason to remove it.

I just talked with my MA about getting the clear bra and possibly adding bonnet stripes later. She said that they recommend not layering them. Instead the clear bra should be be fitted along the edges of the stripes and cover only the paint. She also said their installer would remove the section of the clear bra where the stripes would go should I decide to add them later.

Price for bonnet, bumper, headlights and fog lights quoted was $425.
