Quesions on keeping Piano black looking good...

It seems like it would pick up a lot of finger prints and minor scratches...
I tried Plexus, and it seems to clean everything up, but I don't think it will work on hairline scratches...

What does everyone use?

Also has anyone thought of waxing with a hi-tech wax like NXT or Rejex to help keep it clean?

I noticed the dealer was using glass cleaner on it, does that hurt in the long run...

I've been using 303 Protectant but so far I don't have any scratches to test if it helps remove them. It's plastic so any type of plastic polish should be ok.

No experience with Piano Black, but I know the detailing forum has some practical experts. They sniff at NXT and ICE preferring some pretty exotic combinations of high-end polishes, clays, waxes, sealants, detailers, plastic care products. I find that ICE or NXT look pretty good, but apparently, I'm pedestrian in my appreciation.

Recommend you visit the detailing forum.

The piano black interior trim on my '08 is only a few weeks old, but I had it for seven years on my X5. I just used the same interior detailer on all the surfaces and never had any problems. Even with 3 kids riding in that car we never picked up any scratches.

I've only had mine for a few weeks, but I keep a microfiber cloth in the glovebox to dust it off.

I try not to touch it, thus I never really use the secret compartment. No one else is allowed to touch it either .

Each time I wash my car I use a spray piano polish that we use on our piano, works wonderfully on the piano black in my car. Just use a microfiber cloth and there will be no scratches!

I'd throw one of those small eye glass cleaning cloths in the glovebox and wipe off any smudges whenever you notice them.

try some klasse SG. i use it on my interior silver (and of course my indi blue exterior) and it works great. you can get the klasse twins (klasse all in one and the klasse super glaze) and do your exterior and interior every 5 months or so for years to come for around $50 online. i also use it on my wheels to make them much easier to clean. i would ony use the SG on the interior though.
