Proud New Owner! - 08 MCSa, Chili Red/White, JCW kit

So my wife and I have been eyeing the mini cooper for about a year now but we kept on coming up with excuses not to buy it - it's too small, it's not safe, quarter life crisis (both in our late twenties), etc. Well we test drove one 2 weeks ago and we were sold and our search was on. We didn't even want to wait weeks to order one and shipped. We found a beautiful, spanking new MCSa with the JCW kit and swooped in to buy it 2 days ago. It's quite a different ride from our 06 Lexus SC430 - more thrilling, more fun, more "personality" you could say.

Here are some photos. Please excuse my photography skills - or lack thereof.

Future plans include white bonnet stripes, 18" or 17" rims, navi, front driving lights (at the grille). Maybe lower it slightly depending on wheel gap with the new rims.

My wife and I are starting to fight over the keys already

Congrats! Nice looking MINI. I think it's cool that it already has the JCW kit on it.

Hi,
Nice Looking MCS! Did you buy it off the lot at Concord MINI? I think I saw one exactly like this on their website. Did you get a good deal on it or at MSRP?
I am still indecisive between CR/W and CR/B. They have different personalities....

Cheers,
Dinlaka

Congratulations on a fine looking automobile. Got a name for him/her yet?
Also, cool user name. I am guessing that is how you feel with the new car?

Thanks Dinlaka! Yeah I bought it from Concord Mini. I've been eyeing for a week and was about ready to buy when the sales rep said it was sold! she called a couple of days later and said that the buyer backed out and that's when I raced over there to pick it up. got MSRP on it plus the mini dog

moodylewdd - Thanks! My wife named her "Foxy" It's her car...all I wanna do it drive it
my screename "cloud9" came from my old car I used to have, the S2000, which has a 9k redline. I used it for all the forums I go to (s2ki, clublexus, etc.) but I'm definately back on cloud9 when I drive the mini!

odobo - good point

Nice... I thought the MCSa couldn't get JCW kit? I know some slipped by early on... Does this mean the JCW kit for the automatic is available now?

or are you just refering to the JCW Aerokit?

This is just the Aero kit. yeah..I don't think the actual JCW kit is available with autos.

Welcome to NAM & congrats cloud9 on your CR/W MCS!

I see you opted for the classic look... very nice.

Now you and the wife play nice and learn to share, no fighting!

BTW, I like the choice of navigator/mascot that's riding shotgun in the passenger's seat.

Thanks for sharing pics with us!

Enjoy & Motor On!

The only reason I ask is that I thought I saw that car sitting on the lot, but I couldn't justify buying a red car...I had a red eclipse, and the cops liked looking at it a little too much.

yeah, it's been a pretty good experience at Concord mini - got there at 5:30pm to buy the car and everyone stayed until 7pm to get everything completed even though they close at 6pm. But I'll probably go to East bay mini since it's only 5 minutes away as oppose to 30 min. Next stop - rally lights, bonnet stripes and navigation! woot!

It looks great and no better time to drive than spring and summer.

Your car looks great. Your photos sux Get a camera, enough with the bad camera phones already. Seriously though, that's a nice ride. I originally ordered the same thing but only with a black top. I'm starting to dig those s-winders.

Very happy for you. Odd as this will sound, try coasting in neutral. It's amazing how little rolling resistance these things have.

Congrats Cloud9. Your CR with the JCW kit looks awesome. I picked up my SS/SS MCa last week from Mini of Concord. I ordered mine and waited the 8 excruciating weeks. Well worth the wait though and glad I don't have to share. The folks there were great before the sale, during delivery, and after delivery. My MA was Mari but Claro was also really nice and helped me the first time I went in and looked. I live 5 minutes from Concord Mini which is why I didn't go to East Bay Mini.
