I'm looking for cabrio owners to do video with.
I only got one or two bites on this in my DCMM forum, and only from folks available Thursday on. (I'm looking for earlier arrivals) So I'll post here too.
I'm looking for another convertible owner or two to partner up with to shoot some video on the Dragon. (My camera mount only works on convertibles.) It bolts in place of the two rear head rest cushions and only takes a couple minutes to set up.
The camera can be set up facing forwards or back. What I want is to have the camera on another car facing back shooting me following!
What you get is I'll do the same for you and you can also shoot some of your car with it facing forward like my video from last year. (If somehow I haven't cornered you and force fed you my video see my signature for a nasty low res YouTube version of last years non HD video)
Weather permitting, I'd prefer to do most of this on Tues and Wed before things get busy.
At this point I can edit and create HD video, and provide it in a file to play on a PC, or from a PC to a HD TV if you've got the appropriate hookups. A Blu_ray burner has not been procured, yet.
I expect the way to coordinate this if anyone's interested will be via PM's here once we're at Fontana. I'll be on NAM each night. And if you see a red S convertible with aerokit and loud red and black interior, that's me!

I'd love to take you up on the offer but we won't be arriving until Wed afternoon. Hope you get someone to help you out.
I'd like to know about your camera mount because I would like to get one eventually.

I've watched your YouTube video a couple of times- but can't wait to see the real thing next week!
I also don't arrive until later (Thursday late), but would also like to see your camera mount. I just designed and made a very simple low cost one that I'm going to try at MOTD for the first time. It bolts to the roll bars, resting on the rear headrests.

Mines simple too. Just two pieces of wood. I need to do one that quick releases or folds down so the top can be put up without having to unbolt the beast... Mine's a bit overbuilt but I sometimes run both video and a heavy 35mm with motor drive and heavy-ish wide angle lens all mounted up there. A fair bit of weight I didn't want flying off on the Dragon!
Mine won't clear the top because I wanted it high enough to see the road ahead over the top of the windshield instead of through it.

Have Camera... Will Travel..
Well Mark I'll be arriving on Tuesday afternoon around 6pm and I will be shooting as much video as I can when I can.
So you can count me in to help you out as much as possible.
I don't have a fancy setup other than a tripod mounted in the back seat with bungee cords holding it in place.
Let me look at my commitments and see what times are available and I'll PM you.
Besides, I owe you for the wonderful video you sent me a while back for this years MOTD.
FYI.. I'm sure you already know this, but I thought I would mention it anyway. YouTube now has higher definition video option.
Check out my latest video staring ImagoX and MINIBee along with a cast of others.
Don't forget to click on the watch in high quality just below the counter.

No, I didn't know that about youtube, thanks! I actually just switched hosting plans for my site(s) too so I now have 120 Gig instead of 200 Meg.
Edit: Oh and to go with the new camera I've got a even wider supplementary wide angle this year, .5x instead of .6x, and a .42x fisheye to try out too)
