Suspension Decipher Alignment sheet
Decipher Alignment sheet
Just go an alignment today. Can someone please help me interpret the alignment sheet that I received when I picked up my car...
I had given the shop the following specs.
Front -1.8 camber, 1/16 total toe out
Rear -1.5 camber, 1/16 total toe in
My results sheet shows the following:
Front: L -1.8 camber, .06 degrees toe, R -1.9 camber, .09 degrees toe
Front: Total toe .15 degrees
Rear: L -1.5 camber, .36 degrees toe, R -1.6 camber, .32 degrees toe
Rear: Total toe .67 degrees
Am I correct to assume that they set the F/R camber almost perfect.
Front toe was in fact set at close to 1/8 toe in and rear is way off? If they had set the toe to want I had requested, should total toe not read Front: Total toe -.06 and Rear: Total toe .06
Any help appreciated. Thanks...

1/16" toe out in front or -0.06 degrees per side while you got 1/16" toe in.
Total toe is adding both sides together. Right front toe is even more toe in.
1/16" toe in for the rear or 0.06 degrees per side while you got 3/8" toe in for the rears ( a little more toe in on the left).
This is what I think happened. Even though you asked for more extreme toe settings they gave you close to stock toe settings of toe in for the front and more toe in for the rears. It could be their equiptment was limited to stock settings ( I would go to a specialty brake and alignment shop) or they could not make their machine do out of spec settings.
My alignment shop can set up any toe settings within reason front or back and it's not that hard to make right and left settings the same most of the time.
For the MINI stock toe settings are-
Front toe 0.11 to 0.19 degrees
Front total toe 0.22 to 0.38 degrees
Rear toe 0.13 to 0.27 degrees
Rear total toe 0.27 to 0.53 degrees
Minihune - can you clarify your Mini stock toe data?
1. Are the toe numbers you gave for an R56 and, if so, are they for one with the sport suspension (or are they the same for both sport and non-sport)?
2. What are the equivalent #'s in fractions of an inch (or what's the formula to convert them to inches)?
3. What are the factory stock front and rear camber settings for an R56 MCS with sport suspension?
Thanks,
Bob

Fractions of an inch- see the posts I made.
1/16" is 0.06" is 0.06 degrees.
1/8" is 0.125" is 0.125 degrees.
Sport suspension does not change front and rear camber. The range is still the same as stock R56.
I think that stock R56 is pretty close to what I wrote for the R53 but more adjustable front and rear.
Front camber -0.5 and rear camber -1.5 degrees.

Just a quick note...
If you are serious about alignments, you need to be seated in the car while it is on the rack. Or at least the driver's seat needs to be loaded with the equivalent of your weight.
I tested this on my RX7 and camber changed by 0.2 degrees when I got in the car and toe changed also.
