Suspension JCW Suspension upgrade making weird noise
JCW Suspension upgrade making weird noise
I am hearing a noise when I turn the steering wheel while the car is NOT moving. The wheel does not need to turn to lock position, just turn the wheel 1 to 1.5 rotations and there is a noise that sounds like a bushing is not sitting right and metal might be touching/rubbing somewhere under the nose of the car (hard to put the sound into words).
I did not have the dealer install the JCW set up; However, I took the car to them because the car is still under warranty and maintenance (one of the reasons I purchased the JCW suspension). The dealership (stealership) says they don't know what it is, but since they did not install the suspension they can't diagnose it unless I am willing to pay them what ever the labor is to diagnose it.... The best part is my service advisor said it could be 10 minutes or 3 hours to find the noise.... It is just one of those things... Don't they have to prove that the problem stems from the suspension before they tell me that they can't fix it due to JCW install?
Any advise or sugestions as to what it may be????? BTW, I had the JCW suspension upgrade installed last week maybe 500 miles on it and the noise is not getting worse but not going away.
Thanks,
Michael S.

go to another dealer and play stupid. you got the car and it clicks when you turn the wheel. Also do not blame the suspension, as I have a clicking that sounds like its from the steering column, that I need to get fixed before I am out of warranty.
No they don't have to prove anything. I can understand that the dealer doesn't want to spend time fixing a mistake potentially caused by some other mechanic. That is why you get things installed at the dealer if you want it warrantied.
Why don't you go back to the place that installed the suspension and see what they find?
