Wood multifunction steering wheel?

As a follow up to the BRG mystery - Anyone know why the wood multifunction steering wheel is restricted if the convenience package (w/bluetooth) or any bluetooth option - is selected?

I was told that it has to due with the voice command option with either Bluetooth or navigation. I tried to get it as well. But I would rather have my Bluetooth and nav.

We have the Wood MFSW - and the Conv. Package and Blue Tooth....We were able to order it no problem. You have to order them separate - not in the packages. We did it all on the MINIUSA web site before we placed our actual order.

I have seen both multi function steering wheels (the wood and the black not wood) and the function buttons look the same to me. Sure would like to know the technical difference - or a way to defeat the order block. The wood wheel with the English wood dash is very appealing to me.

The factory will not install the wood steering wheel if you have NAV.

My MA would do it

As me and my MA were discussing how to push this through the factory, my Clubman went into production, with NAV, and Conv. pkg, with leather MFSW.

The MA said he can order the part, and have them install it. He says it's $750 but I don't know if that includes wood e-brake and shifter. He says it would probably be 3 hours or so labor.

I'd end up with a leather MFSW that I could sell...if anyone wanted one.

I have the PW w/ black/black Clubman in production this week. It has cream color line, english oak, and interior chrome. I'd like the other wood bits, I don't know if I'd want to spend $1000 - whatever I'd sell the leather one for.

But you never know!

BTW, there's another person who's replied to a thread I had started with the same idea...this thread is:

Cheers
