Anyone friends with Google?
I stumbled on some interesting links on Google maps, but can't find them again--have tried various key words for 2 days! Specifically, there is a satellite link for race tracks throughout the world, including Road America, the Bahrain F1 track, etc. There is one master list somewhere--I've seen it, but can't find the words "Google maps" will recognize. I also had the actual step-by-step directions for Monaco (we're going to try to trace it next month), but again, can't find the words to get the link. I have another club I want to give them to.
As for MINI content, I lay out drives for The Woodlands MINI club, and some for the Houston club as well. I've found that the Google satellite views are invaluable for laying them out. In 10 minutes I can plan a route that will be fun for our MINIs, instead of hours trying one road after another. You can go all the way down to 200' per inch (of map), and see individual trees! Also roads that look promising, but poop out at some farmer's house. Then all I have to do is drive it to make sure there aren't potholes, heavy traffic, etc. Saves a tremendous amout of gas, and wear and tear on Zippeee!. I've discovered entire routes this way, with really nifty roads and country lanes! A real thumbs up to Google for their satellite maps.

If you logged on with your Google Account when viewing Google Maps there is a link at the top right menu stating 'saved locations'
Click that and you get a list of al visited places, maybe there is what you are looking for.

Your Googlefu is weak?
I've never seen this site before, but Google led me to it, and it sounds exactly like what you're describing: http://www.trackpedia.com

Nope, those don't help, and that's not what I had. What I saw was a regular Google maps "point A to Point B" type of routing, except that A and B were the start and finish lines. Accompanying the directions was a super map with street names and/or satellite views. I AM able to get close in satellite views of Monaco (and any other track), but I want the directions for street courses like Monaco. All I'm finding now with my key words are hotels.
Sorry, good luck with your quest...the postman delivered my tix for the GP in Montreal today. The route to my seat from the Metro is in green...my seats are somewhere in the red...

...it's a very expensive stroll with a beautiful Biosphere view for three days.
