Tarantula
Smashing Pumpkins
Pretty much any Smashing Pumpkins will do the trick, but any of the heavier songs end up with Liz reminding me of the speedo and the fact that Greenwood is full of state troopers.

"Trollhammaren" by the Finnish metal band Finntroll.
How can you go wrong with combining Finnish 'hummpa' folk polka stylings with death metal, sung in Swedish? :\m/

THE BEST song for MOTD.
Flight of the Valkyries!
(From Apocalypse now)
Just imagine the insanity if everyone would crank that up when rolling out to drive the dragon
Link Here:
Apocalypse Now
(Music starts at 3:20 if you want to skip ahead)

I like your reasoning.
Revolution #9 is also good for "in the zone", but too short. LOVE is 78 minutes long, nonstop, and includes some real trippy segues.

On the Dragon, I roll the windows down, open the sunroof and listen to the world roll by.
I've got a great track from a band with a techno remake of the old "Speed Racer" cartoon theme. It's great for a hard driving road, but music takes away from the Dragon, IMHO.

When I'm on the dragon, I prefer silence, but in the surrounding area the entire Give Up album from Postal Service is perfect!

You are all too mellow! How about Stranglehold by Ted Nugent? Frankenstein by the Edgar Winter Group? Fly like an Eagle by the Steve Miller band? C'mon!

Now I want to make a cd with ALL of these on it.
That said, I really love listening to my car. One of my best memories from last year is charging up the hill at Deals Gap, and hearing multiple Mini engines screaming. Beautiful. I think that sound will be with me forever.

If anyone watches Top Gear, their test driver is always listening to something very slow like "How to speak french" I think there's something to be said for that as well
