The Haunted MINI adventure....spooky spooky...

Hey every one....Stevie and i had taken a drive this after noon and we ended up going to estes park and had the idea of a mini drive that lasts over night and we would stay at The Stanley Hotel...It would be not only a good drive but a thrill to stay in the hotel of the shinning. If i could get a good group rate who all would be intrested in going?

-Tommy

We're game. We actually stayed there for our anniversary and conducted a paranormal investigation over two nights. It was kinda hard since there were people in the hotel but we couldn't afford to buy out the whole place hehe. We've been wanting to go back for another investigation but haven't figured out when yet.

REDRUM ... REDRUM ...
This could be a fun time. Count us in depending on time of year, school activities, availability of sitters or costs of additional room.
When you get some more details worked out put it on the calendar.
BTW, that little kid still creeps me out!

We'd be game for that too! As long as everybody leaves their axes at home.

I'm game! Not only have I stayed at the Stanley on several occassions - I got married there!!! I'm also a HUGE Ghost Hunter fan. (show on SciFi for those of you who haven't seen it) They've done investigations at the Stanley. Actually another one is coming up soon.

I've also had my share of paranormal experiences while at The Stanley which I thought was VERY cool.

It's a fun and beautiful hotel.

Thanks!

Ok, well i sent a e-mail off to The Stanley to see what we can do about getting a group rate for this event. you know what would be fun is to have a showing of the shinning while were up there although...i dont really think stevie would be a big fan of that. We watched the movie last night and even i was a little creeped out. Im thinking about Saturday May 3rd???? just because i know when i asked about rates yesterday the guy told me that rates jump up about $50.00 dollars a night on may 15th.

Tommy, if you do the 3rd, you all could meet at the Coffee and Cars session in Louisville, then motor up to Estes.

Not sure we could do a date that early ourselves, to much going this next month or so.

Really good idea for a fun place.

Sounds fun. Might drive up with everyone but don't know if we could spend the night. Must schedule a photo shoot of all MINIs and individual MINIs in front of the Standley. That would be neat, too.

Hey Tommy - FYI - Stanley's rates jump from mid May to mid October because it is their peak season. Also, they have an all Shining channel that plays 24/7 in your hotel room. It's the Jack Nicholson original and not the re-make that was done for TV by Stephen King.

It's up to you but you might want to check if the group rate applies to the main hotel and not the Manor House. They tend to want to stick groups in the Manor House which is not nearly as fun (or nice).

Thanks for putting this together!

Hey, it would be cool to have Weird [your state] runs, based on places in the Weird New Jersey, Weird Maryland, etc. magazines.....

Good idea. We've had one to Bishop's castle but there are more. Like the guys house in Antonita - really an odd place and a good argument against drug use. The Stanley Hotel would count.

Cool place.

Wife and I stayed there for Anniversary as well. We had a deal where we had dinner / night stay / and strawberries / champagne for $300. (can't find that anywhere now) Just did a quick lookup on TripAdvisor. $194 for 1 night (May 10th). Depending on day / price, we are in..

Nice pic, maybe an orb.

I lived is Estes for a year at the YMCA camp of the rockies. I also had a good friend that stayed and worked at the Stanley during this time. He had several good stories.
