Interior/Exterior Mirror Knocked Off Help please

Mirror Knocked Off Help please

Okay someone tried to knock my driver side mirror off, they left it hanging. I put it back but it isn't really secure. Is there some secert to snapping into place? or is it brut strength? Anyone have pictures? so I can try to do this myself. it was knocked off at the base

I could get one, but it just got knocked off at the base and nothing is broken, it looks like it should just go back on.

I used a deep dish socket and a hammer to lightly tap the clip back onto the shaft. It doesn't have to be real tight. If you put it on too far the mirror will be difficult to fold.

This happened to me 7 days after i got my cooper, fold in your mirror and unscrew the 3 alen bolts. This will allow you to remove the mirror completely. What I used believe it or not was the hard plastic extension tube for a vacuum it was the same diameter as the pressure clip.
I simply put the pressure clip back in place and with the tube pressed to the floor and your hands on the top of the mirror, press on it until it is back where it should be, with the right amount of pressure.
Then re-mount to the car and you should be all set!!
