painted grills
ok,
so i may change to a aero grill some saturday when i have all day.
or i might change to an M7 grill, all metal and easier to install.
but in the mean time , while i save $$ for my pulley and CAI i might just paint
my grill trim black.
does anyone have pics of an 02-06 with upper and middle painted trim black,
(BRG with white bonnets would be awesome)
thanks

Like this? Mine's not painted, though. I took the cheap way out and used trim masking tape from Pep Boys for $7. A bunch more here in my gallery, too: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...0&ppuser=29396
Believe it or not, that tape has been on there for probably a year or so and it does not peel. Hot cold, wind, rain, snow, nothing. Just clean the grille with a dry cloth, roll it out and cut it to size or close. Up close, you can see where I have a few overlapping pieces to cover the outermost edges which are a PITA to get perfect. All in all, it took me maybe 30-45 minutes to do everything and it was well worth it.
I recommend the M7 grille. Got the aero kit grille from outmotoring.com, as I hadn't learnt of the M7 grille till afterwards. It's much cleaner.
However, if you do get the aero kit grille, I recommend painting the upper lip of it the body colour. I have no clue where to get the paint, but I'm sure a reputable paint shop can get the colour. I'm gonna do it soon to mine.
Happy motoring!

I didn't install the aero kit, but merely purchased the grilles used on the aero kit, from outmotoring.com:

M7: http://www.m7tuning.com/parts/produc...products_id=22
However, the M7 is a bit on the pricey range. So if you can do some dremel work to get the lower aero grille to fit your stock bumper (as I'm in the process of doing), then go for that one. There are guides on how to do this.
As for painting, I mean the part of the aftermarket aero grille that replaces the chrome part of the stock grille. If you look at the picture @ outmotoring, you'll know what I'm talking about.
