How many miles were on your clubman when you took possesion at the dealer? mine will have sat at the dealer for a week and a half - just curious if they are driving it(salesmen) or its sitting on the showroom floor for every idiot to sit in and screw with.

 

18 miles on mine and it sat at the dealer for 10 days - I was out of town when it arrived 3 days later than expected.

 

Mine had 2 miles - arrived at the dealer 6 days before I could pick it up. The the orientation drive was another 3 miles.

 

15 on mine. MINI of Peabody used it to go of a coffee and sesame seed bagel run. They were even kind enough to leave me a small chunk inside the center armrest. I didn't eat it though... too stale.

 

Tim, as funny as you make that sound - it's pretty bad. Normally my dealership is excellent about things like that but the last time I had to use a loaner (reserved well in advance), it was really bad - with bagel pieces and crumbs and a mess in the back seat from another loaner customer. Blech!

I'd be shocked if there were more than a few miles on a brand new ordered car and have some serious questions.

I was REALLY surprised .... 2 miles. Over the last 30 years I have purchased at least 25 cars ( between myself, wife and children ) and usually they have 7-25 miles average. Do not even understand how they could have driven it on and off the boat and into the service area from the truck?

 

I kinda have mixed feelings on their use of the car until I pick it up. Techically I don't have an obligation to complete the transaction, and the car is their's until I give them the cash. It was my circumstances that kept me from picking up the car immediately. And, it actually moved the transaction into April vs. March, which probably did some small damage to their March profitability.

I figured with 18 miles it was probably used for 1 or 2 test drives, although it showed no signs of use except a very small dirt scuff at the bottom of the inside driver door.

 

No, your car was certainly not used for a test drive. MINI of Peabody is very good about that. When they got bagel in my car, it was probably from a trip to the gas station. If you put a deposit on a car, then no other customers will get to drive that car unless you cancel your order.

 

8 miles when we picked up ours feb 27th.

 

There were 14 miles on mine. They told me that they had to take it to get the clear bra installed at another location, which accounted for the miles.

 

Oh, I consider under 20 "not too many" - I think.

The matching Clubman S I test drove had 220 on it I didn't want that one. LOL

 

Ours had 3 miles on it...
