Fake MINIs - stupidity or flattery?
Fake MINIs - stupidity or flattery?
Ever since I got my '08 MINI in March I've been hearing from my sister about the sightings of a fake MINI roaming the streets around my house in Detroit area. (For local guys it was on M59 in Utica) Well today I spoted the bastard, I was driving by when I saw a car matching the description. Had to pull a U-turn and double back for a picture cause I know you guys will get a kick out of this one

I belive it's a Chevrolet Aveo with a HUGE "MINI Cooper" logo

I think imitation is the best form of flattery, not that it makes the owner of that cheap imitation any smarter in my eyes

Since I'm new to Minis, is this a common occurance? Why would anyone do something like that?
My other driver is an H2 and I've seen a few vehicles attempt to "look" alike such as those fiberglass bodies on Jeeps but I've never seen anyone just throw some emblems on the body..... (however, I have seen hybrid emblems on an H2
)
Guess now that I own a Mini (well, actually two for now
) I'll be spotting more fakes....

Get over it already PGT!
As far as the fake, did it have checked mirrors or bonnet stripes at least?

Or with a 'Beefeater' label, an Aston Martini!
