I saw several Mini's with the word One where Cooper goes on the back of the car. Whats up with that? Also, whats up with all the British Green cars running around London with flames and numbers?

The MINI One is a varient of the Cooper that is not sold on this side of the pond. It is more fuel efficient and a little less expensive. Only 95hp though.
As for the numbers and flames... the only explanation i have is that they are British and...well i guess we just don't understand.

Coopers as you know them also exist in England, the "One" is merely an entry level MINI not sold in the States.
All three variants of the MINI, (One, Cooper and Cooper S) are sold in Europe, along with the new Diesel "One".

I was in London in February, and saw numerous flame decals and numbers, too. I forgot about it until you mentioned it. I thought I just happened to see the same car more than once, but apparently it's common. Que es esto?

Sure wish they would sell the One here, especially the diesel.

95 hp doesn't sound like a lot, but neither does 115, and the Cooper is PLENTY peppy!

For a better explanation, go to the British MINI website: MINIUK. It is a lot of fun. In fact, if you want to play on other websites, they are all linked to MINIs around the globe

I've been over to the UK for work a few times in the last couple of months. What amazed me is that you see MINI's (Ones and Coopers) everywhere, but I've only seen one Cooper S. The Cooper S is REALLY expensive over there. It starts at something like 30,000 british pounds for anything other than the stock S.

The other thing is how much they fit in over in Europe, and how much they stick out over here in the land of SUV's.

If memory serves me correctly, those BRG Minis with the flames are owned by a Real Estate company for their sales people. Or something like that. I'll find it and post it. They had their complete fleet painted that way ! Great advertising for them and MINI!
