Greetings all ya’ll. The Mini Motoring Club of the Carolinas invites you to join in one or all of our planned events for this month.

First Up: On August 16th
A Mini Detail Clinic located in Charlotte. Demonstration and hands on practice in the proper cleaning and treating of your car by Steve Treece , distributor of Zaino Brothers Products. There is no cost for the clinic and lunch will be provided. We have room for 15 cars and at this time we have 13 spots taken and we only have 2 participant openings left. Please remember if you want to observe please register, so that we can provide your lunch.

This is a group participation event where you will have the opportunity to:

Learn how to use a Clay Bar
Detail your own car in an indoor environment
Ask questions about Do's & Don'ts
Meet other M2C2 members
Zaino products will be available for sale if you do not bring your own

Charlotte, NC

Starting time is 9am, and we will finish by mid-afternoon.

Next we have something for both ends of the States
An Autocross scheduled for August 23rd in Charleston, SC. Sponsored by MINI of Charleston Racing Team, Brad Davis of Brad Davis Racing and m2c2. This is an off week for the SCCA allowing Brad to help in this event. Trey Rogerson trey@m2c2.org and Molly Rogers molly@m2c2.org are heading up this event for us so drop them a line for specifics.

Also scheduled for August 23rd, but starting in Greenville, SC and finishing wherever is a run through the Hills of SC and NC. Starting around Traveler’s Rest and taking 276 up into NC, splitting off and onto Hwy 215 continuing across the Blue Ridge Parkway to join back in with Hwy 276. We will then continue South and East on 276 into Brevard, NC and finish the jaunt at House Hiedleberg Restaurant located in Hendersonville, NC for an early dinner. Our latest m2c2 member is the owner and extends a warm welcome to mini/MINI owners.

As we check out the route and plan the start point I will post additional info, but for your planning purposes we look to meet around 1:30 for greetings and hellos. Departing at around 2:00, the run is about 120 miles and with the number of curves involved and at the sane speed we have planned for that should put us at the Restaurant around 5:00.

Request you RVSP on this thread or PM LJinNC so that we can let Helge know how many to plan for dinner.

I replied on the M2 thread but I'll do the same here as a formality. I expect to make it. I've got the hired help lined up for the store, so it's down to the whims of old Mother Nature. I may have a co-pilot with me on this trip if she makes it down from Pa.. Since we're "sanely" caravaning it, she feels like it might be safe for her to ride with me through the twisties!

Sad to hear you're not going to be there Smokey4. Hi LJ! Have any more details, such as a meeting place been confirmed for this run. I know there'll be at least 3 of us so far. Any other confirmations that you know of?
