It's about time.
I've been hearing rumours for a while now.

 

Talk about the wrong time to be coming out with a car like that.

 

When i think of mini i don't really think of off road.

 

How so, Gromit? The economy?

I have no trouble with AWD but a MINI SUV?

 

What is the purpose of a Mini?

 

to be small and comically cute yet super fun to drive.

 

Yeah, that's my feeling. I don't think the gas mileage will be as good because of the AWD. More weight and machinery to move.

 

I can just imagine the JCW catalog for this one. "Front push bar for navigating the concrete jungle mall parking lot." "Roof-mounted driving lights for those extra dark alleys behind hollywood blvd. to help when picking out suitable candidates to exchange legal tender for sexual favors." "Underbody skidplate so that stray dog you just ran over doesn't damage the undercarriage of your MINI."

 

Granted, it wont be as good but not nearly as bad as most out there.

I'm thinkin' that the "off road" means somebody's lawn or maybe the fairway on a good golf course. Not much clearance there. And in deep snow, it will probably just float up until the wheels aren't touching anything.
But it's a Mini, so I like it. Even if it only gets 13 mpg.
