First time at Summit Point - tips?

Hi all,

I'll be heading to Summit Point at the end of the month (del-val CCA event). This will be my first trip to Summit Point, so I'm looking for tips about the track, lines, tricks, whatever you've got! I've already watched some videos on youtube and google video - looks like a fun place.

This isn't my first event, just my first time at this track.

Thanks!

mb

Which track? There are three there.
I have run on 2 of the 3 (Summit/Main and Jefferson).

That is an excellent question - I should have specified the Jefferson Circuit.

thats not the main track. you ran on shenandoah.

as far as jefferson, the last time i ran that was back in 01

its a 1.1 mile. pretty easy track to race on the last corner is an increasing radius turn that puts you on the front straight

go to http://www.summitpoint-raceway.com/ and click on the jefferson circuit

i was just down there this weekend running on the main track......turn 5 and 6 are horrible

seriously tho, Bill Scott needs to hire ppl who know how to lay asphalt

hope that helps
