Click Me! Check this out the Italian Job MINI's from the remake made the top 10 coolest cars in movie history. They are sitting beside the Aston Martin DB5 from James Bond movies, the Batmobile, the Ferrari from "Ferris Bueller's Day Off", the DeLorean from "Back to the Future" and the 68' Mustang GT from Steve McQueen's Bullitt.
I like the Vanishing Point nod. I disagree with the F&F car. While you know they have to pick one from those movies, that not the one I would go with... Little suprised that the Mustang from Gone in 60 isn't on there, considering the rest of the list.
i would have been happy with none picked from those movies
What about the Charger from the first one and the Yanko from the second one. They needed to put a car from those movies in there and they picked the wrong one in my mind.
With out a doubt the '67 GT500 from Gone in 60 Seconds should have been on this list, that movie made ford rethink the mustang and you got what you have today because of it.
I saw that article today too!!! haha That list is pretty cool and I wasn't surprised to see the MINI on the list I don't know if I'll ever be able to transition out of a MINI haha
thats pretty cool but you got to admit the mini's are something. I was watching the special features on that movie and they said they built the first 3 electric minis for the subway scene. Also had a 24body shop on hand.
I don't remember if I bought my MINI first or did I watch the Italian Job first?
Or did they both influence each other?
In any case I have the new Italian Job in DVD, HDDVD, XBox and IPod Video so I can watch it over and over again.
I have to laugh at this. Both here and in a DeLorean forum, people are complaining about the list, and both have cars in it! I could only imagine the complaints on car forums that are about cars that didn't make the list!
Sweet that the 1st Gen MINI made the list... not THE deciding factor to make me go out and buy the first pair of Coopers, but it did pique my interest.
I can't believe two things:
1. The 1950 Mercury driven by Stallone in the movie, "Cobra" didn't make the list.
2. I can't find a better pic of that car than this one.
Fast and Furious?!?! please... Should have had James Garner's F1 from "Grand Prix"....
Amen to that. Probably the best Racing movie of all time. Le Mans is also quite good as well, but Grand Prix takes the cake. And the Camerawork by John Frankenheimer is unmatched by today's standards. (who also directed Ronin which has one of the best car chases ever)
And to this list, overall it's pretty good, but no car on F&F deserves to be on that list. And where is Mad Max's Police Intercepter or the Ford Mustang Mach 1 from the original Gone in 60 Seconds?
