Finally I have a COMPLETE MINI!
Finally I have a COMPLETE MINI!
2 Months 1 Week and 6 Days after purchase date, the "rest" of my MINI arrived!
[First of all I am not here to bash my dealership, I really enjoyed the experience!!!]
As we were driving the MINI home from the dealership we noticed that the reflector/light on the left rear fender was hanging down by the wire. We called the dealership and they informed us that we could just mail it to them and they would mail us a new one. Well 5 days after purchase date I sent the part to the dealership via UPS. The lady there informed me the package should reach the destination the next day. We called the dealership several days later to confirm it had arrived. It had and the said we should be receiving the package in a few days to a week. We waited over a week and called back and they told us it should be on the way. This went on practically every week until March 12th (exactly 2 months after purchase) when our sales man finally went down to the parts department them self to find out what was going on. They told us that if we did not receive the package in 2 days to call back. And today, 1 week and 6 days later it arrived. So for the first 2 months of owning my MINI this is what the left rear fender looked like
:

And Today
!!!

But even when I received it today I had to rig up my own clip to hold it on. (Used a tag screw hole adapter from my old truck! And of course some duct tape for good measure!
)
So all in all, I guess I am not mad. It wasn't a part that affected the performance in any way. I actually find this whole story to be kind of humorous which is the main reason I decided to share it!

Oh, better: I ordered white wheels with Lewis on 06/02/07. Picked up Lewis with silver wheels on 08/06/07. Two weeks ago (that's SEVEN MONTHS after delivery) I finally got the last bit of the correct wheels.
wow..i would be really mad if that happened to me..that's not customer service at all. but in the end..at least you got it.

Yeah, it was a whole big fiasco. I'm happy now - I got them before I wanted to put them back on the car. So it's behind me, I just learned some lessons. Like don't buy the car if the dealer is being at all shady or the car isn't exactly what you want/ordered/paid for.
Wow. Very cool attitude. I wish I could keep my priorities as straight as you!
