It's been pretty quiet around here!

I'm starting to think it might be a keen idea to have some kind of a meetup and drive for us Vancouver area MINI fanatics. An excuse to do a little bit of spring detailing, maybe?

Ideas for a route?

 

VMCC has a drive planned for April 19.
"The VMCC will have it's first proper club drive of the season on Saturday, April 19. That's right, on a SATURDAY, so those of you that have been complaining that we don't hold any club events on a Saturday, this one's for you!

It will be held in the afternoon, and as to the time, I would like to get your feedback. I am thinking of starting it off from Spanish Banks in Vancouver, and finishing it off at a secret location in Richmond which will be revealed on the day of the drive.

There will be a special treat for attendees, I will give you a hint though - what does the Napa Valley and the Naramata Bench have in common? If you know the answer, that is what we will get to taste!

This is what I have planned:

1.00pm - meet at Spanish Banks for a fish and chips (or bring your own) lunch
1.30pm - detailing tips and tricks
2.00pm - Club Drive
3.00pm - Completion of drive at endpoint/optional 'special treat' participation

If you wish to participate just in the club drive, show up at the meeting point 15-20 minutes prior to the club drive. And at the end of the drive, the special event we have planned is optional, so you are not required to partake in it if you don't want to!

We like the efforts of a couple of our VMCC members, works4me and beken, in taking their own initiative and organizing lunch get-togethers for MINI owners to get together and talk about all things MINI - thanks you two! We think that's a great idea, so we will try to incorporate such social get-togethers in our club drives as much as possible.

This now gives you 3 choices:

1] Come just for the lunch and social get-together;
2] Come just for the club drive;
3] Do both!!

Please mark this club drive down on your calendar, and we hope you can make it. Feel free too to let other MINI owners that you know who are not members of the VMCC about this club drive, we would love to have them join in. And classic Mini owners are always welcome!

I've seen the site, last time I checked it hadn't been updated in ages. It's good to see that some events are being organized.

But... drive from Spanish Banks to Richmond? That sounds more like a commute than a Sunday drive! (Er, Saturday )
