After a brief time in an american made sedan, I could not resist the very base model Dark Silver and Black S that Downtown MINI received just a few days ago. I took it out of the dealer this morning as mine and it is home with me and my family now. I put the rear seat down and my 4 year old thinks it's her "truck." Only extras were the metallic paint and a MFW steering wheel. I have made money on every one of my prior MINIs by keeping out of the option trap, and I am continuing that tradition. I have a road trip Friday, so it will be nice to see the on-board computer MPG at a steady 70-75 mph. I hope it breaks 35, that would be nice. I guess it's time to change my profile for this newest MINI. It may have been a sales trick (don't really think so) but Larry the MA said they only have a 5 Clubman or Clubman S allotment a month. I don't know if that is 5 total or 5 of each, so these may be in short supply. YIPPEEE!

 

I doubt it was a sales trick. Some folks are on waiting lists, and they don't even have production numbers yet.

First off congrats on your new Clubman! Secondly, you sound like me. I had a MCS and loved it but traded it in on a sedan (dumb move). Now I am planning on getting a Clubman S by the end of this year. Have fun on your trip. See you on the roads of Central Florida.
