I pulled the trigger today!

2008 MINI Cooper S Clubman Silver
Pillars/Roof/C-Pillars
Lightning Blue
Convenience Package
Automatic
Xenon
10-Speaker Sound
Grey/Carbon Leatherette

After getting jerked around a bit at both Crevier and Nick Alexander here in so-Cal, I drove the 40 miles to Long Beach where I dealt with Matt and Tony. They did MSRP and tossed in floormats and mudflaps. I gotta do the installation of the flaps myself but I'll cross that bridge when I get there. Thanks to those who recommended certain items and who said to go to Long Beach. Easiest car I've ever purchased.

Sounds interesting... can't wait to see the color combination !

Might have to go onto the MINUSA configurator and have a look for myself... pics will take too long.

Congrats on your decision.

I had the mudflaps put on my Clubman by a foreign car place. It took him much longer than he expected, but he wanted to do it right. I found the directions on one of the vendor sites as none came along with them.

Also, if you get the headlight protectors don't get the really thick ones from Outmotoring. My installer who has done this professionally for years had a terrible time with them. He told me that no film had ever beaten him before. Finally got the headlights on, but the parking lights are so round that it is impossible to get them on all the way back and to get them to stay on. He finally had to use his own film. For me it was wasted money for the parts, but at least they are now protected from chips.

I'm so glad to hear that you didn't deal with those other guys. Also, 40 miles isn't that far when you consider that most MINI owners have to travel much further than that to get to their dealers. My closest dealer is 70 miles away.

If the mudflaps prove to be that much of a challenge, I'd have no problem heading back down to LB Mini to have 'em do it. But I'm too excited to even worry about it As far as headlight protectors go, I'm still new to this so I didn't even know they existed till just now

Congrats!

Welcome to the Lightning Blue club!

I ordered the same color combo. We fell in love with it as soon as we saw it at the dealer on Clubman intro day. Very nice, very contemporary. Although the dark silver looks sexy, I haven't swayed from my LB pick!

Just ordered it today and my agreement says no later than May 31st. That's 10 weeks :/ Hopefully once HQ has a chance to process the order I'll have a better idea since I just placed it today

That seems fast ,Universal mini told me that the dealers who dont charge the markup ($3000.00) were so back odered that it would take 4 months to get one from them

Congrats on the order, ColdFyre! I've purchased two MINIs from Matt and Tony. Definitely the best automotive purchasing experiences ever! I live near Santa Monica and happily motor down the 405 to LB MINI.

I ordered a Clubman S on Saturday and was quoted end of April. MA implied that the non-S's were taking longer.

SS/B, LL/Blk, Dark Grey CL, Brushed Alloy, PP, Xenon, WTS, RFL.

Does Universal MINI markup their cars $3,000? If so, that's a nice sales/scare tactic they've got.

they lied Crevier, Nick Alexander and Long Beach all told me the same aprox time frame.

Long Beach was the only one out of the 3 who didn't jack me around so I went with them

I live right next to Crevier but went to Long Beach for mine too. No BS there and a great experience so far.

Ordered my S on Clubman intro day, Feb 16, and its now on a boat with ETA to port of 4/6. They used April 30 on the order paperwork but I think they add a couple of weeks to the real expected delivery date since your non-refundable deposit is refundable after that date.

Good choice on color too. After seeing and test driving one on the lot I changed my original color to the same - Lightning Blue/Silver, with Silver Bonnet Stripes.

Nice spec. Lighting Blue/Silver was our second choice. I have seen it in person and the car looks drop dead gorgeous. I would say the best colors for the Clubman are Hot Cocoa and Lighting blue.

originally I was gonna get British Racing Green, but after staring at both for what seemed hours during my 3rd test drive, the Lightning Blue reeaaally grew on me. It seemed just a 'happier' color Plus, I'm a big fan of Blue Man Group so I may do some custom BMG window graphics

Coldfyre, I don't like to say bad things about dealers . . . cuz guys gotta make a livin'. I drove to N.A. MINI which is 2 hours (128 miles) from my house. Based on a phone call they would make me the best deal . . . . yadda, yadda, yadda, I also went to a couple of others in the LA vicinity. I ended up doing my deal with NIELLO MINI in Sacramento cuz I got tired of the LA BS. I guess I should of went farther south. Sac works out well, I have family there. The Clubman doesn't need to be a pressure sale. It will sell regardless. I don't get the $3-5k premium. Simple economics lower price . . . . sell more! Make happy customers . . . . makes return customers. Why do they make it so difficult!! I can't wait till mine arrives!
