which resistors for side curtain airbags?

for the 2 side curtain airbags that run down the side of the headliner....im going to remove these completely. i searched and found a lot of threads for those that have racing seats, but couldnt seem to find anything about the side curtain airbags. im leaving the rest of my airbags though.

also, can someone please give me DETAILED instructions on removing these 2 airbags? i have the side panels off already, i see the wire plugged into that cylinder thing in the rear, is that the ONLY thing i have to unplug? or is there another connection? any precautions I should take before hand? disconnect battery? could removing these and using resistors to "trick" the light effect any of my other airbags in the event that i'm ever in an accident and they deploy?

The connectors at the gas cylinders are the only connections to the system. ANY time you work with or around SRS systems, you have to disconnect the battery and wait at least two minutes for the charge remaining in buffer capacitors in the controller to dissipate.

The side curtain bag systems have a long pipe that comes from the gas generator and run along the inside roofline all the way to the front pillars. You have to remove the headliner to take these out.

Why do you want to remove these? If you are installing a huge sub box, you can engineer it so that it clears the system. Now, if you are completely gutting everything behind the B pillars, I can see the need.

As for the resistors, most likely they would have to be around 3 ohm, much the same as the seat airbag. I'm not absolutely sure about this, but it seems to be a typical resistance for just about every airbag gas generator I've encountered.

thanks for the info!!!

so as far as connections/wires go, theres only ONE thing to unplug for each airbag, and thats at the cylinder behind the rear panels right (on each side of the car)?

EDIT: just saw that you said the connections at the cylinder are the only connections in the system.

then its just screws/bolts to physically remove the airbag and cylinder?

this is the reason im removing them. i still want the dash and seat airbags to work though. if the airbag light is ON, will the bags that are still connected still deploy, or does the light disable all airbags while its lit?
