Nevermind. I figured it out. The vents are a sandwich with the foam in between. Throw out the foam. Throw in the aluminum. Snap together. Insert. Done. I'll post pix later for opinions...

Has anyone actually installed the aluminum fresh air vent inserts from Minicooperparts.com? I was expecting a complete vent from them, but apparently it's just the aluminum part, which appears on their website to replace the foam that's ordinarily sandwiched in betwen the plastic parts.
