Mini Sponsored Autocross in Triad
Mini Sponsored Autocross in Triad
I saw this and thought I would pass it along. I am not promoting another club or any specific dealer, just saw it and wanted to pass it along. It doesn't work for my schedule.

I took my 18 year old daughter up to the event and she won the Novice class in my 2007 S! First time she has ever done this. She got some tutoring from Per Olof Ezelius who won Pro in his 05 Mini S.

Wow! A star is born! How neat. Congrats to her. She's earned her "Girls Kick Butt" t-shirt.
Per was at the BMW PC track last time, I hope he's there again on the 16th, it is a thing of beauty to watch him drive that MINI! I didn't know who he was at first and approached he and his wife near his car, as I was all the MINI owners at the BMW event, and asked if he had tracked his car before and he humbly said, "I've been out a few times." ;-)

Thank you...
Come on out! Here's the scoop. Please note: everybody will need to sign waivers.
Here is a timeline*** of how we are planning the morning:

8:00-8:30am Arrive and sign waivers - ALL persons on site MUST sign both waivers whether they are driving or watching.
8:45am Close registration table
8:15am - 9:00am "Clean Tech" by our tech inspectors
9:10 - 9:30am Drivers Meeting
9:35am 1st car on course, practice runs by group, non-timed (done in lieu of course walk, 4-5 cars on course at a time)
Once everyone has had a few practice runs we will start the official timed runs by run groups (2-3 cars on course or more as dictated/controlled by Timing/Scoring)
Lunch - we will take a formal lunch break somewhere around noon
After lunch - continue timed runs by run groups
Depart by 5pm

***Schedule is subject to change for the better or worse depending on on-going conditions.

Oh yes, one more thing. Not that we want to invite a spectator crowd of 100 or so, but if you want to bring a friend or two along or have someone that you've been trying to get into the BMW CCA but haven't been able to get them to attend any local events, well now is the time to invite them out to watch. Any/All guests MUST SIGN BOTH WAIVERS (Club and PC) and MUST STAY OFF THE TRACK, GRID and any other "RESTRICTED AREAS" during "HOT" sessions and any other area(s) as deemed by the event director (Dwayne Mosley) and/or the landowner (Mike Renner will be representing the BMW Perf Ctr, any areas he does not deem as safe viewing areas are to be regarded as unsafe, no tresspassing, do-not-enter-this-area areas.) We have no problem escorting guest or drivers off the premises for violating this safety rule. Any drivers that are told to leave the event or are escorted off the premises for violating safety rules or any other rules set forth by the event coordinator (me), the event director (Dwayne Mosley) or the BMW CCA Autocross Minimum Standards and generally accepted event guidelines will not receive a whole or patial refund. Break the rules, you lose your admission ticket. And incase if you are wondering, guests may NOT be passengers in any car on the autocross course during practice or timed run session.
