It was at Saylorville. I have not been to Iowa City since I got my Mini, so it was not me. Had alot of fun running around Saylorville that day. Some nice twists, even if they are slow. Thanks for the Welcome

talus, you might want to check out the Peerage of the Pepper White thread (see link in my sig). Request and get assigned a unique number--that's all there is to it--and your foray into the Pepper White world is preserved for MINI posterity!

Also a nice place to get an idea what other folks have done with their PWs in terms of mods and enjoy pics of PWs of all kinds.

 

I was pretty impressed with how the MINI handled the snow and ice over the last couple days. Never had any moments where I was more than minorly nervous, and those were due to other drivers.

 

The mistrust of other drivers is a pretty common affliction among MINI owners. You will find yourself -

-- Giving a wide berth to other drivers
-- Minimizing the time window spent behind trucks on the highway (staying out of the "rock chip" zone)
-- Parking on the far side of end parking spots located in the least populated space on the lot
-- Tapping the brakes to flash drivers who seem to be approaching from the rear too quickly (or investing in a 3rd Brake Light Pulsar)
-- Being much less tolerant of people tailgating or cutting you off

I think my MINI has made me a much more defensive driver around other autos, but more from a self-preservation, OCD perspective than simple safety consciousness.

 

Gil-galad I have a question for you. Where did you get the black scoop on your mini? I like the way that looks and have been thinking about doing that to mine.

 

My scoop is a "fake" (i.e., note that my MINI is an MC with the normally aspirated 1st Gen Tritec engine). When I had some body work done last summer to fix my front bumper (see pics in my Gallery) I went ahead and had the shop install the MCS bonnet and satin black-painted scoop, along with the Aero Kit.

For your 2nd Gen MINI, I think after-market replacement scoops are starting to emerge on the market. I suggest going to the 2nd Gen Exterior Mods thread...

...and do a search on the word scoop. You'll be able to see what avenues other folks are taking with their scoop mods. The OEM JCW scoop seems to be popular. For that matter, you could just get an OEM replacement and have it either painted or wrapped in vinyl (though the R56 scoops get very hot; I'm not sure how the vinyl would take it).

 

My dealer just sent me this. I got saddle package rims on my hard top!

Sold them back. They just did a swap for me. I just had to pay to have the tires changed over.

Just got it back from the dealer. They look very nice . I'm very happy.

 

I've always liked the "sidewalk" variety wheels; didn't know you could get them as an option. Very nice!

Given that I've never been a big fan of the web spokes (always seemed like they tried too hard with the design and over-cooked it), I think your MINI looks tons better with the new shoes. They look especially nice on the PW/B!

Not so much an option...sshh...more of a good snag. Someone bought the saddle package and foolishly didn't want the wheels. So the dealer had them on a car in the lot and I asked them how much it would cost to get them on mine. My dealers great!
