JCW wheel

Is the JCW Wheel smaller in diameter than the factory wheel? I know that it has a much needed thickness to it but I can't figure out if it is smaller around. Thanks for the replies.

yes. 1/2 inch smaller diameter that makes a much larger difference than you would imagine.

Just wondering - I've got the instrument pack, with tach and speedo above the wheel.

I like to keep the stock S wheel low, to the point it blocks the top of both instruments a bit.

Being thicker and smaller diameter, does the JCW wheel block even more of the instruments?

I have Nav (with the dual tach/speedo cluster) and the JCW wheel. I guess simple geometry dictates that the JCW must cause some additional blockage of the dials. I'm afraid that I wasn't paying attention at the time of the change, that I could quantify how much difference. Currently I get enough dial blockage that it annoys me at times (there was also some blockage before the JCW). That said, the driving enhancement of the JCW wheel more than makes up for it, and I would still choose to get it again.

I just swapped in the JCW Wheel, and now I've got an airbag warning light. I followed all the MINI directions, 15 minutes after battery disconnect, etc.

I removed it again to check that all the connectors are OK and locked in - same result. Does the volute spring cassette have anything to do with this?

Is this usual? Does it just need a reset (I hope)?
