Vandalism to rear hatch emblem - how to replace

Some douche decided to do the strangest vandalism today. They decided to take sand paper to the black part of the rear hatch emblem. The black painted part that surrounds the MINI insignia. Really peeves me off...

Anyways, how do you get those emblems off and how much do they cost / where do you get them?

I think I could actually mask of the letters and such and repaint it to look fine if I can get it off. Are they just pressed on with double sided tape?

Thanks,
K

People suck.

Anyway... you get that off by taking a blow dryer to it, just long enough to loosen the adhesive, maybe 30-45 seconds. Hold the dryer about 8 inches from the emblem and keep it moving back and forth.

Then take a piece of dental floss and slip it under the corner of the badge and then move it back and forth in a slow, sawing motion.

Remove the remaining adhesive with some Goof Off or Goo Gone.

You can get the replacement from most any MINI dealership. But I highly recommend Morristown MINI out of New Jersey. They have all those badges and they have the best prices for parts and accessories... if you find lower prices, please let me know.

I know they carry these because....

It is double side taped on. Use a peice of fishing line to get behind it and saw it off.
