Went with the good ol parents.

Needless to say, i was kinda shocked at how it wasn't a "huge" dealership that i see in commercials n crap. Not to say that would be redundant since it's a MINI dealer, but that's aside from the point.

We walk in, nothing but open space. the far walls have desks, and a few showcases for MINI apparel and crap.

From the walk in, go straight and a bit to the left to a "back alley" of sorts. thats where we saw the MINI's.

Got meeted by Tony *guy i had talked to in e-mails n crap*, and he walked us outside. He had to leave to sell a 65k$ BMW to some other guy and wife/g/f so that was a bummer.

We spent like 30min looking at a Black Cooper S, the "Italian Job" white with maroonish bonnet stripes *5speed*, and a CVT grey cooper. All were fine to sit in at the drivers and passengers sides, but if you can do the math, we had 3 people.

My mom said "There cute".... :???: , i didn't know how to respond in a cool macho way, but i was like um, k. Next thing you know, here comes another dealer with this skinny guy with THICK i am talking like 5inch wide glasses, and walks up to the MCS...ooh, can i test drive this one? is what he said...

my mouth about dropped....your taking the model car i want, and your a major nerd....what irony.

well, when he pulled out, the CVT cooper came in with a mom and son duo. kid was prolly 16 tops. we look at this one, and we go talk to a dealer and say blah blah *my dad was like "i will be the only driver today" <----what a liar

so he copies my dads drivers license....and then we need a key right? well...the dealer we got was like, "ooh, you should have the key already"....well, we looked and to no avail NO KEY!!! so the dealer was like oh geez and looks around. comes to be the 2 JERKS who had the car before us took it. the lady had it in her purse and was just about to leave in her car....i was going to snap, no way was i going to let this _____ ruin my experience. so she was like "oh hahahaha my bad" and all i was thinking in my mind was just crash your car. crash crash crash. well, we finally get the key.

IT WAS A WEIRD key *magnetic or crap*, regardless we got the key in the ignition and we pull it out. since it was mostly for me, i got shotgun, my dad driving, and my mom in the backseat behind the driver....

needless to say my mom was NOT happy with the leg room. she was like "Tom, can you scoot up some?" dad was like "wtf?". i liked the legroom for shotgun, so i didn't complain.

of course when your testing out a test-drive only car, you tend to screw with crap. well, we had like a dual sun/moon roof i guess, really cool for the backseat people for a nightview. all black seatings *dunno if it was leather or not*. big 'ol speedomitor in the middle....such a nice perk. so i look in the glove compartment...and i see 2 cup holder holes *not a good place for them if you ask me* and a brown plastic bag...

naturally my curiosity gets the best of me and i look through the bag. it was FULL of cd's with cases. i assumed it was from the people who test-drove before me, but we assumed they were long gone.

i had a custom CD *thanks to all the people who helped me on the forums to tell me test out the speakers before i do anything drastic*. well, all the cars had the harmon-kadon speakers, so i really had no choice to test out stock and the HK. regardless, they were nice.

the CD player definitly could use a improvement to say the least. quite confusing to the naked eye and my dad snapped and cussed a few times trying to understand how to turn it up and stop switching from radio to cd

well, the dealership happened to be near a residential area with a neighborhood of snobs, so we go there *since we never been in this subsection of st.louis*. really nice, some road bumps of course and then i heard those sweet oh so lovely words..."You wanna take over Greg?"

i had my seatbelt off SO fast to hop out and drive that bad boy. we drove it around, and man such a nice ride...steering wheel is a bit big and more resistant then my 1988 oldmobile royale *but a nice change*.

we got lost of course, and we were like, hmm....how are we doing on gas? so we look around for the gas gauge...

it's half a bar to empty and we are lost in a part of st. louis that we have no clue about. so of course i panic knowing my joy caused my parents to get lost in a test-drive car..needless to say, it sucked up like no gas =)

well, i got scared that my dad would snap, so i was like, mom, you wanna take over? she kept saying nah, but i was like mom, listen, i don't want to get lost in my future car. that isn't how i wanna go down. so she was like OK and took over when i pulled on the side of the road across the street from a golf course.

so she drives it, dads in back, and i am shotgun again. she of course likes it, she does a U-turn *since we were lost we tried to backtrack*, and dear god, all of our mouths dropped with how sharp of a turn it was. rather, meaning it WOW'd us with the sharp turn ability.

so, she looks around with my dad with street names, boom, we get back on the main road and we roll back into the dealership backlot. when my dad had to get out, never have i seen a fish out of water squirming to get out of that back seat.

regardless, some other family of like 9 came up to our car, asked US questions *meanwhile our dealer was RIGHT there*. of course my dad is stupid and is too honest and complains of the backseat being too rough.

after they drive off, the dealer walks us to his desk. my parents talk to him, ask questions, yada yada....and then he laid down a bomb when i asked him about how well is the dealer and the manufacturer in contacts?

i quote!! "Well, it really depends. Most likly from you read off some forum is a bunch of STUPID PEOPLE WHO GOT MAD AT A SLIGHT MISTAKE THAT THEY COULDN'T COMPREHEND...." dear god i was like um, i see.

well, we got done asking questions, and he only offered to get us a car like 2 times *my dad said 4 or more and he would just walk right out*. so, we shook his hand, got his card *burn baby burn :evil: :evil: :evil: *.

drove home was smooth, but it just smacked me how long it will take me to save up for one. but it's worth it =)


needless to say, parents and I had a great time, and it was all mostly thanks to you guys helping informing me about the MINI =).

Just dont tell your parents that you want those 17in 100 spoke rims n crap and you'll be in the same boat I am, 18 with an S order soon!
