Hello all. I will be recieving my MINI in the next week or two. I read a few threads a while back about what to check for when picking up your mini but I can't seem to locate the thread. I have tried searching but could not come up with it. If someone would be kind enough to give me a link or even give some updated information, that would be great.

I like the MINI Cooper Guide, it tells you everything. When I first marked it as a favorite, I'd read it for hours.

I see that a lot of the checklists specify not having the front license plate bracket "installed" or drilled into the bumber, but I don't see the alternative listed. Of course, both front and rear plates are required for vehicles in NH and MA, so if I don't let them "install" the front license plate bracket, how does the front plate connect to the car?

That refers to states that don't need a front plate. Nothing is uglier than having an empty front plate frame mounted on your bumper.

There are a lot of ppl in states that require front plates who are driving around without front plates on. I'm one (shhhh don't tell anyone).
In most cases, it seems that you are only likely to get a ticket for it if a cop is already looking to ticket you for something.
I carry my front plate in the boot and can prop it in the windscreen if it ever becomes necessary.
