to order a MINI S. Dealer says it will take 6 months. Just wondering if that really means 6 months or do you think I'll have it by Christmas? Dealer in Long Beach told me 10-12 months so I kept emailing dealers and got great help and immediate return emails from Jennifer at Ralph Schomp MINI in Denver. I live in Las Vegas but the dealer here wants $2500 over sticker so I shopped around and will pay MSRP. I don't know how I'm going to get through the next 6 months.

I'm in the same boat! I gave Ralph Schomp a deposit for my 2nd MCS exactly one month ago, hoping to get it by November/ December.

I was told 8-9 months..... but got my production number at 2months then took delivery at 5.5 months.... so you may get it a little earlier. I think they tell you 8-9 to cover their boot.

Also- I was "required" to purchase the 6 cd changer and floor mats by Baron MINI in Kansas City.... I didn't mind but I would be a little upset if they wanted to charge me for somthing I didnt want... or worse- for nothing and still have to wait.

I got my Cooper S in May, and have over 5000 miles on it today. I LOVE it and it was well worth the wait. Congrads to you.

I live in Vegas too. I assumed the dealer here would knock off tht bogus $2500 desert protection package charge when you ordered your car. I am waiting to order an 04, wanted to get orange, but now hear that will only be available in the convertible version. what a letdown. Do you pay CO sales tax or NV tax when you buy your car out of state? I know Long Beach Mini in LA is not charging over sticker. Best. Tom in Vegas

you'll pay sale tax in the state you live in. I bought my car in NY and paid only $35 to NY state for the temp tags. Then I paid Colorado sales tax and Colorado registration.

I am a motoring assistant at Ralph Schomp MINI and have absolutely no problem keeping my eyes or your production status if you PM me your name.

DiD is correct that the only additional costs to MSRP are sales taxes based on where you live.

Rob.

AMEN ! I'm with you both! I've paid my deposit. I was told I was too far down the list to make the August allocation so my order will be placed in Sept. I'll have an Oct build and delivery "by the end of November". To me that means November or December depending on the shipping, etc...
