Corbeau Harness Belts, Reviews, Installation?

I like these Harness Belts:

http://www.corbeau.com/products/2_in...s/2_inch.shtml

Anyone Install these on there Mini, and how hard would it be? The price looks cheaper than usual ones out there. Any reviews on the Corbeau brand?

I have a pair of the Corbeau 3 Point Retractor harnesses that I use during the AutoX season. They are bolt-in, with retractor, with double release.

I got them because I wanted a pair of racing harnesses and didn't want to spend $475ish for a pair of Schroth Quick Fits that I liked better. The Corbeau's do a satisfactory job at keeping you stiffly fastened to the seat, but they are inconvenient in other ways...

The Corbeau's are a great value, but I really think the Schroth Quick Fits are a lot better choice for a daily driver. I kept my regular seat belts installed while I had the Corbeau's in and it was somewhat inconvenient having to push aside the Corbeau's buckles every time you or a passenger gets in your car. They were also sort of a PITA to install and uninstall (remove seats, remove backseat, hard to unscrew bolts, etc.).

The belts look fun and aggressive in the car, but that also has its downside...This past summer I was pulled over for speeding on an interstate at a reasonably high rate of speed (31 mph over) and for not wearing a seatbelt (I was actually wearing my factory black seatbelt but the officer noticed that I was sitting over my blue racing seatbelts and assumed I wasn't buckled in at all and gave me an additional $110 ticket). When I went to court to try to negotiate the ticket; the officer noted that I had a "highly modified sport car with racing harnesses...blah blah blah" to the judge. The judge took off my seatbelt charge, but still gave me a harsh fine/punishment for speeding. The point that I'm trying to stress here is
1. don't speed
and
2. people that aren't aware of autox and roadracing assume racing seatbelts are for street racing.

To summarize my thoughts, if your Mini is a daily driver and want a set of racing harnesses, I recommend to spend the extra $$$ and get the easy to install/remove Schroth Quick Fits. They also have a very high resale value on NAM and would be easy to sell if you didn't like them.

You make a good point. I'll have to agree that I want them more for the look than for safety or sitting stiff, during hard turns!

Thank for the advice!

i cannot agree more with the suggestions made above... with street racing the way it is now... give the cops less reason to stop you is always a good thing

if its looks then im afraid there's very little you can do, though if its holding you in your seat in a turn then consider the CG lock too
