my friend and I are setting up a weekly meet here in charlotte, and for the first meet, we would really like to have some nice cars, and i thought of luke, and the rest of the minis that i'd seen at the NAM meets, and thought they'd make a perfect addition.

we're going to be having the first meet in march (need time to get the word out, as well as get the final OK from the manager of hooters). Its going to be a weekly event, but i really don't expect you guys to be able to go to every one. It's the hooters on south at 485, since the parking lot there is more than big enough to fit all the people we're hoping to have eventually.

well, the meet is on mondays, from about 6:30/7 to 10 or so. if you can show up for a couple hours, hell, just to have dinner and show your car off. impress some people. :-D maybe we can convince a few people to go from honda to mini.

 

:( Monday!! We live in Cola, so unless we are off on Tuesday, we can't :(

 

I will try to come to them when I can! I'm sure I can convince one or both of my teenaged sons to ride along with me...

I think a monthly Charlotte meet would be great and I could probably make a lot of them. but, do we really have to go to hooters?

 

main reason we chose hooters, is the size of the parking lot, as well as the location. since it's right off 485, near where it intersects 77. you don't need to eat at the hooters, there's 5 or 6 other resteraunts there. we're not meeting for the food, we're meeting so we can get to know other people, and see their cars. we've got Chick-fil-a, raffertys, McDs, steak and shake, and a couple others i can't remember.

I think we've got a date for the first meet, as well. march 17th. I'll try to get the other guy who's organizing this to come on here and post some more info.

we have a chalotte regional meet for the minis, i don't know of any meets that are for everyone, like james and myself are trying to get going

 

Yes, there are monthly Charlotte meets - usually right around the middle of the month. Both a breakfast meet and a dinner meet. Never at the same spot, because so many people come from different parts of Charlotte-Mecklenburg.

i can't make it to the crackerbarrel one, since i have school, and i've school on tuesdays and thursdays. i need to check what time for the second.

Yep - that's what we try to do, too. I can't meet on Tuesdays or Thursdays either, so that's how I came up with the breakfast meet. I also attend my husband's Subaru meets too. They're also all over town.
