1700 miles to date. . . and not one single problem. I read this board with regularity . . . and have an anxiety attack re: the effectiveness of the A/C; EML lights; stalling; lunging; hesitation; windshields that randomly crack . . . and lemon laws. Is this what I should expect? My car (no sunroof) has very powerful A/C on the hottest of days. It's a joy to drive. . . .and again . . not a single problem. Not a single rattle or creak. Am I plain lucky . . or is the worst yet to surface? Peter

I have 20,700 miles. No problems of "true" significance until last week - overheat issue - goes to dealer this AM, I have bought a lot of 5 amp fuses until I get there. Those who have NO problems, stay a bit quieter. The later build the car, the better off you are, hopefully. Remember, bad news get spread faster, and further.

We have close to 10,400 miles on our 11 month old '02 Cooper CVT and the car has been flawless. The A/C fully manages our 95F+ and 100% humidity South Florida weather, no problems.

Don't read too much into internet message boards. It is good to be informed but once you cross the line into obsession, then that is a totally different matter.

Dandp,

Have'em check both the auxiliary fan and the power steering fan, as they both run on the SAME CIRCUIT (Duhh! MINI must have been having a senior moment). Either unit failing will cause the 5 amp fuse to blow and overheating.
