Well i have a dilema. My new forces me to travel (which my old job did) but i will have to carry books, pamphlets, and other stuff. We all know that space is at a premuim in the MINI.

Should i trade the car in on a GTI 1.8t and get more space, or live with a ton of crap all over the back seat.

I would have to return my car back to stock and would be selling all the stuff I have put on it.

you could remove the rear seats and build a flat floor.

Why would you have to remove your mods???

Doug....if I can move across the country in my MINI, you can certainly carry a few books in it. Now if your just looking for an excuse to get a GTI....thats a different story.

Well I do not like lose stuff lying on the seats for fear of them becoming projectiles. I can remove most of the stuff myself but my Stock stuff is still down in PHILLY.

The projectile problem is an issue...I hear stuff sliding around all the time.

Would you be replacing all the grill work as well?

Could you set up some kind of files/crates in the boot? Or is it more stuff than the boot can manage? Too bad the carrier at MiniFini isn't yet ready. It looks really cool. Check it out under PLAY, and then future concepts. I think that they're calling it a cargo hold.

I agree with pookey13, keep it, find a way to use the boot better,
you never know what might happen, you may develope a new boot organizer
and sell it for big $$$$$ .

Go to Staples. Buy some boxes with lids (either cardboard or plastic). Put stuff in boxes. Fold rear seats flat. Place filled boxes on back of folded seats. Place throw pillows around "empty" space to prevent sliding. Motor On, Dude. No need to trade for GTI (I sold my GTI when I bought the MCS)

I have a friend that puts his seat down and uses a moddified cargo net to hold down his work material. It works really well and you might think of this as a way to work.

well after going for a midnight drive last night If i trade this car in I will really miss it. Although i luv the space in a gti the 18's make me nervous, and I would have to return the car back to stock and I am feeling really lazy today.

Hmmmmmm Time to think about some rear seat options

Make them do like any other employer does for its travelling workers and have them provide a company car.

Q: What am I missing here? Why would you ever have to revert your MINI back to stock?

Surely you can sell or trade it in as -is!
No?

I would do what Eric says...

If I can fit camera bags and Betacam SP cameras in my MINI...and your car looks awesome now.

I agree w/ eric....put the pulley in

It will definately solve your problem...
because......
the car will feel incredible..(you've driven mine so u know what i'm talkn' bout).......then you will never want to sell it....
and it will cause you to forget that you even had a space problem....lol

Yet another mini related problem solved (pronounced sol-ved)..... by d-mini-ero

peace,
d

When it comes to the lack of space in the MINI, you can make it work. I am an art student that has to be able to carry my wet paintings in my car when needed to bring them into class for a critique. The last painting I carried in my mini was 2ft X 4ft an awkward size but it was able to fit just fine. The same goes for my small wet clay sculptures that usually weigh 50 pounds that I have to bring to class. I am able to do this without damaging my interior because I have been able to make room by putting the seats and covering all surfaces with towels or old shirts. If you want to make it work you can, but if you are looking for an excuse to sell than that is another story entirely. Personally I think you should keep the MINI, but if you really want to sell it that is your choice.

vdubdoug - is this thread a joke? What's wrong with you? Smoking something lately? I'd don't want to hear any of this, "I'm thinking of selling my MINI" stuff b/c it's too small. Get out of here!

Enjoy the pulley, will ya?

Follow dandp's advice on the window tints. Geez, I'm gonna have to have a talk with dandp about this one...
