Pets in the MINI

How do you guys feel about bringing your pet into your MINI? I miss taking my dog around for rides and rolling the window down for him. I'm considering folding the back seats down and having him sit around back there, but then he won't have the cool window air. And....he sheds a lot.

I have two poodles and a maltese...non-shedders. But even if they did shed, I'd go online to find one of those backseat covers for pets. My friend with a lab has one for her Cayenne....and her dog sheds tremendously. She's very meticulous with her vehicle so I think the cover works for her. I am a petsitter/dogwalker, and always get dog/cat hair in my car. I am thinking of buying some sort of car vacuum. Any suggestions, anyone?

Also trying to find someone who can make a sig with a poodle in an OB/B MINI. I"m willing to barter some petsitting if you live in South Florida!!!

Our boxer rides almost daily in our MCS. I bought the backset cargo liner and LOVE IT! it captures alot of the hair, i also added a padded pet blanket to assist even more. It is such a small vehicle that the airflow is more than adequate for anyone in the back area.
Go for it and take your pets with you.

The neighborhood mountain lion is not allowed in my MINI. It's not to fond of the MINI either.

My pugs love the car BUT they are not a good match with blk lounge leather.
Each road trip requires major cleanup and lots of microfiber towels to pick up the "molting". I take them in my wife's car.

We have two dogs, a cocker and a silky terrier. I only allow the silky in my MINI only because he is a non-shedder and is only 10lbs. I'm afraid of our other dog who is a little heavier (maybe scratch the leatherette) she also is a little more rambunctious and sheds. Lucy the cocker gets to go in mommys audi

Sloppy Dog

We adopted this beast a few months ago. She's still about 25 pounds overweight. She's good in the car...the other car. I had pretty much vowed that she would never see the inside of Li'l Pepper. There's the fur everywhere issue, but there's also the big, fat, not entirely coordinated dog getting in and out of the car issue too.

Scheduling conflicts for next weeks dog training class mean that either she rides in the MINI , or I teach the fiance to drive a stick :impatient and trust her to take it wherever it is she has to go that day. I'm guessing she'd flip if I rented a car instead.

I'll probably fold down the seat and cover everything with a blanket and hope for the best.

During the summer months our boxer goes with us to go hiking and around town! Hair can be a bit of a problem if they shed a lot...but it's all part of Motoring...we just drop the seats down, add a blanket and in she goes! Remember, dogs love to motor too!

I ordered my Clubman for my dogs. I bought one of those large square bed pads from Costco and a red and black Orvis bed to put in the very back. I'll probably keep the back seats down permanently with a dog throw over them as I will never have passengers except for the dogs. Two Greyhounds, a Doberman and Miniature Pinscher who will be the only one to ride up front. But I'll cover the front seat so he won't puncture the leather.
My guys have very little shedding and no doggy smell so it should work out. Usually they only go to the vet and back. The Clubman will be easier on the 2-1/2 year old Dobie who already has arthritis. Henry can't jump into the truck or Suburban.
I found a red and black retired racer badge for the grille, so now only waiting for the car to arrive to put their things in the back.

I've seen the Mini product for the cover that goes in the back - anyone used a non-mini product and liked it? Also, does the back have cargo fasten down thingies? My lab has a seatbelt that either clips into the people-seat belt or to a cargo fastener. And if so, does the Mini brand cover allow access to the fastener?

Our beagle sheds a lot, but she also loves to motor! I have the PoochStyle back seat cover -- very easy to take on and off, washable, and easy access to the seat belt latch. Also, EXCELLENT customer service from PoochStyle. Highly recommended.

We're going to find out tomorrow. We're going to take our PBGV to the groomers in our MINI. He sheds. He'll be on a towel.

We take our 3 Shibas in the MINI all the time. The back seat is always down as they are the only passengers that fit. They do shed constantly but a little vaccuming and the cover from Pooch Style takes care of the problem.

I used the Mini Rear Seat protector and I really like it. Its main weak point besides price is the side protectors don't stay in place too well. However, side protection is the one feature that sets this one apart, at least that I found.

We have 2 pugs that ride back there fairly comfortably.

How CUTE! I LOVE the last picture of them in their outfits! We have a Shiba too and we love him. Here's a picture of him...not in the Mini though as we usually load him and all the others (two Dobermans and two Bull Terriers) up in the Suburban when we bring them places.

I can't imagine 1 doberman in a MINI let alone 2 with 3 other friends. So, I understand why they don't travel in the MINI. Might make a cute picture with the boot open and all these dogs spilling out.

We're about to undertake a drive from CA to VA in the MINI with 2 adults, 3 shibas and some living essentials. I hope we all survive.

I don't know about your Black and Tan, but ours is definitely the trouble maker out of the three. Very happy and ALWAYS ready for a good game of "chase the shiba".

Oh my...snuggling Shibas!!!! What a great pic!

Anyone have a good recommendation for a good vacuum I can buy to tote around in the MINI?

Great photos of all the dogs in the MINIs. It helps to imagine how my Greyhounds and 130 pound Doberman might fit in the Clubman . I am not sure how all 3 could fit, so they may have to keep riding in the Nissan Titan if they have to travel at the same time. They love that truck as it is a 4-door and that back seat area is surprisingly large for them.
But the Clubman is supposed to be their car, so we'll see.

Ruby is probably the most posted dog here on NAM, she loves to motor in both the Coupe, and the Cabrio. That's why she is called the Black Lab Nav. unit

These two love to motor in the back, but since they're non-shedders cleanup is not an issue. I just fold the back seat down so they can get a good purchase and they don't slide around too much! They only weigh about 12 lbs each, so it's not much of a load for the Blue Meaney.

Littlesha, post a pic of your two poodoos too........

My two motor in a Subaru. The MINI is my (the only) part of my life that is free of dog hair! They would look good in it though!
