Do you guys/gals who've lowered your cars ever experience dragging that bottom plastic 'dam' thing in front of the wheels? I'd be worried about eating it to pieces, especially with some of the dips between driveways and roads around here.

Now and then, but nothing to worry about. They are easy and cheap to repair. Even if it was a yearly thing (& I doubt that it will be) it would be worth it.

Agreed....mine slowly wore away until i lowered the car more and it was finally touching the ground when parked So i just trimmed it up and haven't rubbed/scraped since (despite being much lower than stock).

It will scrape on everything, but surprisingly it will hold up really really well...at least it did on my lowered R53. You can trim it a little and it wont scrape, or you can just let it scrape and buy a new one when you need it...i heard that piece is like $12!

Thanks for the info. I'm not planning to lower mine any time soon, but was curious if I ever decided to what the abuse on the car would be like. Now how about warranty infractions???

i would assume if you just used springs, your warranty on your struts would be voided but it really depends on your dealer. I asked mine about engine mods and he said a simple exhaust or intake wont void it but when you start getting into things like a ECU reflash... thats when they start turning on you, which i think is reasonable.

Mach V Springs

I have a few high res pictures in my gallery. All of them are with the Mach V Springs. If you have any questions feel free!

I won't add another photo; there are enough nice ones here to give you an idea of how much better the car looks when it's 1.3-1.5 inches closer to the ground. I have never dragged my car's chin, except once very lightly in my own drive way. But, I used to drive a lowered E30, and it taught me to be very aware of the car's chin. I have enjoyed the improved handling since lowering my car. It already had sport suspension, so the ride was not so very different than stock, and the dampers were in pretty good balance with the spring rates.

cheers,
Joe
