check out the August 2003 issue of FHM magazine. right before page 49 is a cool ad/iron-on of a mini cooper with Evel Knievel.

Ad reads: "LET'S EMBRACE EVEL. Let's paint our cars red, white, and blue. Let's put a big number one on the door. Let's try the impossible. Let's dust ourselves off and try again. Let's jump the rules. Let's jump the status quo. Let's become real life super heroes. Let's start with an iron-on. LET'S MOTOR."

FHM = For Him Magazine (it's basically a maxim type magazine). go to http://www.fhmus.com. the bf has a subscription and found the ad for me.

^ Thereby giving truth that some people do indeed only read those magazines for the pictures. The MINI pictures, that is.

I'll bet that it's only in the subscriber copies. damn. Anyhow, I refuse to buy those mags (FHM, Maxim, Details...if forced to pick, I'd have to choose real **** over fake ****). Though I think someone else posted that the iron on was in one of the car mags recently...

I got the same iron-on in my Autoweek subscription a few weeks ago too.

Last week Autoweek had the bogey-kills silhouette stickers.

While in San Francisco in March I got a free postcard while in a resturant that had the Mini with various color schemes including a similar white with #1 on the door and red and blue stripes on it. Maybe this gives us some ideas on how to paint up our MINIs. Pretty hard to miss that look- might encourage more racing.

^ I've got those. One was an S in the Evel Kinevel (sp?) scheme. Another was the "Art Car" scheme ala' 1970s BMW coupes. Very cool.

Does anyone know if Evel has a MINI? Can he even sit up straight anymore?

Wow! They are sparing no expense on their advertising. I wonder how much it cost them to do that many iron-ons....

Well, the punch-out-model-cars and the air fresheners weren't cheap either.
