shift boot install?

Hi Guys,

I'm sure this has been discussed before so I apologize for the repetition, but I couldn't find any instructions in the archives. Anyway, I'm wondering how to install this JCW shift boot I got from Outmotoring. Looks like it just snaps in? I know how to remove the ****, so how do I get the boot off once the **** is off?

Anyone tried those instructions on an R56? The photos are of an R53. I've not had much luck removing the shift boot base on an R56. I'd like to order boots from Redline, but I'd like to be sure I can install them first.
