It looks like this will be another very well attended run.
If you have participated in REME events, then you know what to expect. We drive, socialize, and eat (and we occassionally go on field trips to really cool places).

If you have not participated in one of our events I encourage you to experience REME.

Larry, our run has been posted on our site since the second week of December (the whole 2008 calendar is posted). Worse case is that our mutual members will have a choice.

As it stands now, we are going to have a pretty good group on the run. You are welcome to join our run if you want to reschedule your Keith's run.

Just a "heads-up" that it has been reported that Redwood Road and Palomares Canyon Road are heavily patrolled by the Alameda County Sheriffs. Apparently due to recent local residence complaints of fast cars and motorcycles. So watchout and keep an eye out.

Also Patterson Pass Rd. is very twisty and fun, but does have some blind curves.

So let's all have fun, but be safe

Howard reports that Patterson Pass Road is pretty consistant in size, shape, and activity as to the other roads we routinely travel on during our monthly runs. We should take the CHP warnings seriously though.

WOW... Looks like it's going to be a beautiful weekend. As of this morning, we have 36 REME member cars signed up! My guess we will have at least 38+ with a few MOASF participants!

If you can't make this one, we have a Mount Tam Run planned for March 1st.

Wow, you guys looked AWESOME! We were heading up in our '05 MCSC from Santa Cruz to visit Mom in Moraga, and were just getting to the end of the twisties coming from Redwood/Canyon when we said COOL a mini TWO minis THREE MINIS woooow look, a whole MINI rally!

So many gorgeous MINIs and Minis like we've not seen before; it was so tempting to flip a U and get in line...

We'll join you next time! Thanks for spicing up Canyon!

Marco & Bea, waving at you from the cool blue S cabrio

Haven't figured out how to post pictures on the REME site yet, so here's my favorite photo from today's run:

Redwood Empire Mini Enthusiasts made it to both the front page of the Pleasant Hill - Martinez Record (02-13-08) and page 16 of the Concord Transcript (02-14-08). A brief summary of our run was listed as well as a few photographs!

With around 35 participating cars, REME took the east bay by surprise. Thank you to Kat Noble, our East Bay Chapter Chairman for organizing the run and to everyone that sent me copies of the newspaper. They will be stored in the club archives.

REME will have a Marin County Mount Tam run on Saturday, March 1. We already have 34 cars signed up. Please join us Saturday Morning for a full day of fun and driving.
