Hey everybody,

Not sure if this is the right forum for this, but here goes:

Does anyone know the SIMPLEST, most unobtrusive, most efficient, easiest, and did I mention simplest way to install a Valentine One radar detector into my new MCS's electrical system?

I'm no electrician and if it's too involved I guess I'll just have to take it to someone. Thanks for your time and any help you are able to offer,

Craig

I’m not trying to be a smart ***, but I just plug mine into the cigarette lighter and use the suction cups to mount it to the windshield. That way, I can totally remove the Valentine 1 when I use valet parking or take the car in for service and hide the V-1 under a towel in the boot area.

Hey Gerrygee,

Don't worry, I didn't take it as a smart *** remark. I always used the cups and the lighter with my other car, but I seem to be having trouble getting the suction cups to stick with all the tension from the cord to the lighter on the Mini. So, having tried that a few times already and, besides, having never liked the cord running down the center of the windshield into the lighter on my other car anyway, I thought I'd ask if there was an easy "how to" on hooking it up to the electrical system.

Again, is there?

Thanks,

Craig

I wired mine right into the clock. Very easy with the kit that came with my V1 (hardwire kit). Do a search...someone else did it too and posted pics.

did the same, works great, looks clean - have it on all my cars that way. Worth a little hassle
