Tips to replace rear arch trim ??

Not really a mod but those who painted their trim should be able to help.

I scuffed my right rear wheel arch pretty badly and just received my replacement from Pelican parts (the big one, not the piece with the light).

Can anyone tell me the steps to removing and replacing this part? I've heard murmurs to the effect that this particular one is not easy but that could be bad juju.

Thanks in advance!

The wheel arch tucks under the side skirt. The clips are easy to get off except for the one closest to the skirt. Get your hand/fingers underneath the trim near the rear bumper and pull. It will pop off. The body has threaded male standoffs that grab the plastic female clips. Be careful when you get to the bottom by the side skirt, it usually breaks away from the trim piece before the clip comes off the body. The new piece should have come with all the clips, mine from Classic did.

To install the new piece, slide the end with the tab behind the side skirt and line up the first clip, give it a good push and it should snap in. Continue around the rest of the fender arch and it should just snap into place.

Mine came off in less than 30 secs and new one went on in about 1 min taking my time.

I assume you mean pull on the black trim itself?

Yeah, pull on the trim not the bumper.

I'm confused...folks who bought new arches to have painted have said they needed new clips because the old one broke removing the old ones. What clips were thet referring to? Mine only came with what was attached to the trim piece itself...do I need to buy something else, the male clips on the car side?

(Just trying to clarify because I don't want to rip off the the old trim only then to find I'm lacking something)
