George from Mini-Madness is going to send me the flash unit that is able to program the EVOTECH ECU upgrades for the Cooper S. I would like to offer the service to anyone else in the Seattle or Spokane area that is thinking of getting this ECU.

The benefit of this is I can do this on the spot and you won’t have to send in your ECU and have a 2-3 day down time.

Here is what you need to do:

Make sure you get the latest 34 version of the factory program.

E-mail or PM me so I can schedule some time and coordinate with George.

All transactions will still go through Mini-Madness.

What if we don't have the latest software but also don't want a cold start or stumble problem that may come with it. I for one will NEVER let BMW fuss with my software!!!!

 

why should it matter what software you have? You're just reflashing whatever is on the chip anyway?

remember the EVOTECH is a mod of your origional file. Your file is VIN locked. You need to have ver 34 because it is supposed to be the one to get rid of stumble and cold start.

It has been released in England for some time now.

Process is:

Download your file
E-mail it to Evotech
they mod it according to what mods you have
they send it back and I flash it back

I guess if you dont want the latest file then thats up to you.

 

Are you able to do for those of us that already have the EVOTECH software but will lose it after we have the dealer upgrade the software to V34?

BTW - Northwest MINI has V34 but have experience problems with having some cars not accepting it?! Weird. How hard can this stuff be??

Yes Sleepless I can take care of that for you and any others that need reflashing. I have also heard of the issues with V34 programming. Has anyone else heard of this from other dealers or is ours on crack?

Is there some easy way for us to discern what version we are currently running? You know, like right click, properties
