Bridger has a site with lots of good information, and a report on the Remus exhaust on a Cooper HERE.

I have the Remus exhaust on my Cooper and would say I felt no noticeable "seat of the pants" change in power as he reports, but that may not be true for the S. I think that a search on this site for the many reports on various exhausts might suggest a better option, amongst them the Borla here at the group buy.

I've had a Remus system on my S for a few weeks now and it's a nice system, very well made. It's not overly loud but produces a low, mellow growl and does not cause droning in the cabin at any speeds. It gets a bit loud if you put your foot in it but is quiet at highway speeds and does not intrude into stereo listening on trips. I actually prefer a louder exhaust but I opted for the HK sound package on my S and decided to go with a quieter exhaust this time. The system installs easily enough but you do have to cut and reuse the forward section of the stock primary pipe. I wasn't able to find any dyno numbers on the system but it is more free-flowing than stock and does bump up the torque and horsepower some. One reason I went with the Remus over other brands is that even though it is stainless steel they still apply a high-temp black coating on the system vs. polishing it. Once installed you see the polished stainless tips but the rest of the system tends to blend in with the chassis, kind of a more conservative look although the tips are slightly bigger and nicer looking than stock.

When I bought the Remus system Turner Motorsports had the best price at the time, they were $100 cheaper than Moss and the other retailers, plus they had it in stock and shipped it to me in two days.

i got mine today, like you said, i didnt know you had to cut off the stock system. so im gonna get something or someone to do that for me.
is welding any better compared to attaching the system with the clamps that come with it? i was wondering about that.

thanks

Welding is probably the better solution vs. clamping but I just used the supplied clamps on mine. The clamp holds tight and I haven't detected any leaks. The stock primary pipe is easy to cut using either a disk cutter or a hacksaw with the appropriate blade. Just remember to file the edges down so that you or the next guy that works around the exhaust doesn't get sliced and diced. The stock system could easily be reinstalled using a sleeve on the primary pipe if you ever decide to sell the car.
