justacooper aero kit pix anyone?
Justin, what grill are you talking about? My old one? So where's this connection you have?
Thanks for the pix. Hope to see more from lighter colored coopers. I really want to see the contrast of the black on the bottom.
BTW, hot bonnet stripes kurvhugr.

. That pic you showed me the other day was hot. You should definitely switch to 17's. I dont think you would ever go 18's and 16's look too small with a body kit...but if you did go 18's..the rims boner has on his car would look totally sick on your car. I would have Tuls P-shop it for you...

you can check my gallery, i only have the front bumper on at present, but from the side they all look about the same anyway (if you look real hard in the pic you will see i dont have the sideskirts on at all in the pic...) It really changes the look of the car, even parking two side by side, you dont notice how much it actually changes until you change it. Its an amazing piece of kit, and was on my want list since before i even bought the car! I think a gold aero would look really hot!

That kit is personalized (well done Aquasar). I'm sure you already know this, but just in case it's not clear to everyone.....
Aquasar used chrome upper and middle grills -- in fact the upper is the early MC model, 4-slat type -- instead of the black honeycomb ones that match his lower grill.
Also, MINI sells self-adhesive plastic blackout pieces that fit in the recesses for the fogs next to the lower grill. Those plastic pieces are the most overpriced kit options though -- seems like they're around $80! You could use vinyl or paint instead.....or just leave them body colored, like Aquasar did.
There's a similar issue at the back. The rear cover has two large recessed areas and the kit usually comes with pieces of vinyl to fill them. As far as I know they're always either black with silver polka dots or white with silver polka dots.....many of us either just leave them off or use something else (paint, different vinyl, carbon, wire mesh, etc).
If you're liking the black/gold contrast (I do), I say you need all the black grills and need to black out the fog recesses. You already have the black roof. As to the wheel arches, if I had Aquasar's color scheme going I might paint them body color (like Tuls suggested) but for the bold, black/gold contrast effect, leave them alone (or paint them black so they're a better match for your roof and mirrors). Remember though that the arches don't "end" well; the bottom of the side skirts and both front and rear aprons are usually painted in textured black to merge with the arches. I say, if you paint the arches (whatever color), paint the bottom of the skirts and the aprons to match.

i know it doesnt look that different, but until you see a car actually make the swap, you dont see how much of a difference. I only have the front bumper on, and its been on for a while, but everyone commented on how much it changed the look of the car. 2 of the have the aero kit, one from the factory (yes factory) and the other shortly after i believe. Even they forgot, and didnt know how much the look changed, even tho my car had been beside both of theres. You dont see the change until it actually changes, just seeing the two side by side really doesnt cut it. I would recomend you get the kit. I love it, and always have. Heck i even have a spare aero front bumper in the attic of my shop. If your going to change the llok of your car, this is it. And best of all, it is the best looking aerokit, and its oem, cant beat that combo. Personaly, i hate the gold, but it does look amazing with the aero kit installed, ihate it every other way, sorry, but i do, but with the aero kit, it just looks amazing. I think gold painted arches would look killer as well with the kit (i think it costs the same to have the arches painted as it does to have the black painted on the kit. Go for it. You will love it.
I didn't know you wrecked it. :( How sad.
Thanks for all the suggestions! I do think the blacked out mesh grill and black vinyl on the fogs and back bottom would be better.
Great pix guys!
Maybe I'll have something done before AMVIV.

Thanks, I've now put black vinyl in the area for the lower fogs, and a thin strip of black vinyl along the front edge of the protruding lip across the front. One day soon plan to put some behind the small grille that you can see orange thru.. Had a hard time getting the orange tint to pass inspection. One place failed it and I talked another into passing it and if i ever get pulled for it, I'll just say I tinted it after i got it inspected. NC DMV Inspection Book says no Red, Yellow, or Amber tint allowed at all..

You know you wanna be like me.....
With all this time off....I NEEED to put that damn grill on!

SWEET RIDE
I like that tint too.
