Help with water leaking

My 2005 Convertible drips water on my knee when it rains. My observation is that the window does not make a seal to the rubber once it is wet. I am trying to say that when I walk up to the car in the rain, there is no evidence of water leaking inside. After getting in the car and closing the door, water continues to drip from the upper corner of the door window. (pictures attached of 2005 and 2006 seal)
On a 2006 convertible that I had as a loaner, the seal has been changed at this exact area.
I have asked the dealer and Mini USA to replace my seal with the ss'd seal, and they will not. Reason they are giving me is that since they cannot create the water leak with a water hose at the dealer, the problem cannot be addressed. This is frustrating to me because it is not reasonable to drop everything on a work day and drive 26 miles to the dealer for them to witness the event in the rain. Does anyone have suggestions for getting this taken care of?

You could try to reproduce the problem with a garden hose yourself, and if you can then take it back to the dealer and show them the problem. If that doesn't work and it were me, I'd drop everything the next time conditions were right and drive the 26 miles so the dealer can witness the event. Being frustrated is better than being frustrated with a wet leg.

I agree, I was thinking the same thing. I believe the dealer just runs the hose over the top without opening and closing the door like one would experience in real world rain. If time permitted, I could also take a road trip to Seattle
I looked up the part number for the "A post seal" and it does not change through 12/06, even though the part visibly changed.
