After having the madness bar on the car since March, I recently picked up the H-sport competition bar and installed it today. I took a short drive to make sure nothing fell off and I like the way it feels. The real test will be tomorrow at the SCCA DC area autox at FedEx Field.

I have the h-sport bar on the middle setting, and had the Madness bar on the firm setting, which seems about equal. The new bar weighs about half as much as the madness bar and is 25mm (and hollow) vs 22mm.

How'd the bar perform? How'd you do in general? Why the switch? Simply a weight issue?

Will be interesting to see the difference the hollow bar makes. If it's stiffer than the 22mm solid it will probably will induce more oversteer, which can be a good thing if you know where the break-away point of your tires are. Last weekend I installed a Progress 22mm adjustable bar (from Moss) and it definitely makes a difference. When going into a corner at high speeds all 4 tires will slide instead of just plowing the front tires. Loads of fun!

Well the results with the new bar were mixed, but not entirely the fault of the bar.
We had 5 runs each on Sunday, both me & my co-driver in the same run group. Temps were in the low to mid 90's.

First run (my co-driver) stood as 1st in STX. Then the Falkens started getting real hot. As the tires got hotter the car plowed more -- and time/run went up. We then started spraying the tires with cold water prior to our last runs and the car did well on the lower half of the course and progressively worse on the upper half as the tires got hotter.

Hoosiers or other r compound tires to a lesser degree actually get stickier as they heat up, but the extra runs 5 min apart w/ 2 drivers was noticable in the heat with street tires -- even Falkens.

Next event we will try the bar on it's stiffer setting

John,
They now sell the new 25mm rear bar alone OR as a set with the original front bar. They still sell the original set. They do have a disclaimer that it's for track/competition use only.
